Java is an programming language and computing platform which is first released by Sun Microsystems in 1995. There are numerous applications and websites that will not work unless you have JDK installed in your pc , and more are created every day. Java is secure,fast and reliable. As you can see around your world Java is everywhere from games to supper scientific computers !It was originally called OAK, and was designed for handling devices and set-top boxes. Oak was unsuccessful in market so in 1995 Sun changed the name to Java and modified the language to take advantage of the developing World Wide Web.
